Working together to develop sustainable concepts for a future worth living for everyone? Again? That has happened many times before... True, but not in the industrial sector!

 

The shiftTanks initiative is the first project in Austria that brings together committed young people from different technical disciplines to think about groundbreaking solutions that will bring the global society closer to a sustainable future.

 

The work of shiftTanks focuses on five main areas: Awareness, Global South, Resources, Energy and Processes. 

This includes industrial sustainability as well as issues such as awareness-raising and climate justice.

In this context, real and conceptual project ideas from industry and science are developed and realized. The results of this work are published and made available to the general public.

The projects, which are led by students from technical fields, offer the opportunity for interdisciplinary networking, active engagement and personal development. Initial collaborations have already been established with scientific institutions in Austria, the Manipal Institute of Technology, India, Waseda University, Japan and many experts. In addition, the projects are supervised by mentors from the academic staff of national and international research institutions and students.

A positive way out of the climate crisis is possible if there are such associations of bright minds and motivated people who contribute to it in their respective endeavors.
